We are pleased to announce our new partnership with a leading UK-based commercial printing company, headquartered in Bicester. This client is renowned for its high-volume, time-sensitive printing capabilities, specialising in producing magazines, catalogues, and retail advertising materials. Their state-of-the-art facility in Oxfordshire boasts six web offset presses and one of the largest binding lines in the country, enabling them to print up to 200 million A4 pages and finish up to 2 million books per day.

They are known for their ability to deliver complex print products to tight deadlines, leveraging their advanced technology and skilled workforce. Job Description:
As an Electrician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the operational efficiency and technical reliability of a large-scale, high-volume print production facility. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a balance of reactive and proactive maintenance across a wide range of industrial printing and finishing machinery, ensuring optimal performance, minimal downtime, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.
This position requires a well-rounded engineering professional with a strong foundation in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance, ideally gained within a fast-paced manufacturing or print environment. You will be expected to carry out root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and contribute to ongoing process improvement and engineering projects. Your ability to work methodically under pressure and make quick, accurate decisions will be essential to supporting production targets.
You’ll work as part of a collaborative engineering team, partnering with operations, production, and health & safety teams to drive site performance and uphold equipment reliability. To be successful in this role, you must be a qualified electrician holding NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent, with proven hands-on experience in a similar engineering role. A valid 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification is essential, and applicants without this cannot be considered. You’ll bring a strong understanding of electrical systems within an industrial environment and a solid track record of working independently and within multi-skilled teams.
Your responsibilities as an Electrician include:
- Conduct electrical maintenance, repairs, and fault-finding on printing presses and finishing equipment.
- Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance across the site.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
- Work closely with mechanical engineers and production staff to ensure equipment is safe and efficient.
- Install and upgrade electrical systems and components as required.
- Maintain accurate records of all work carried out.
- Adhere to health & safety regulations and company policies.
The requirements as an Electrician include:
- Qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
- 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification is essential.
- Previous experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, PLCs, drives, motors, and control panels.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a shift-based system.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and organisational abilities.
Shift Times:
This role is working a rotating shift pattern. You will be working 2 days on, 2 nights on, 4 days off then 2 nights on followed by 2 days on.
PAY RATES:
£51,000 per annum
Start Dates / Induction Process:
Upon successful completion of your application, you will be offered an interview slot with the manager. If you are successful in your interview, then you will be offered a position on a permanent basis.
