We are pleased to announce our new partnership with a leading UK-based commercial printing company, headquartered in Bicester. This client is renowned for its high-volume, time-sensitive printing capabilities, specialising in producing magazines, catalogues, and retail advertising materials. Their state-of-the-art facility in Oxfordshire boasts six web offset presses and one of the largest binding lines in the country, enabling them to print up to 200 million A4 pages and finish up to 2 million books per day.
As part of a larger European group, our client serves a diverse portfolio of clients, including major publishers and retailers. They are known for their ability to deliver complex print products to tight deadlines, leveraging their advanced technology and skilled workforce. Job Description:
We’re excited to offer an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company based in Bicester, renowned for its high-quality production processes in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking Production Operatives to be an essential part of their team. This is your chance to step into a dynamic role that directly impacts the production of high-quality printed materials used across various industries.
As a Production Operative, your role will be hands-on and varied, ensuring that the production floor runs smoothly and efficiently. You will assist in operating cutting-edge printing machinery, perform quality checks, and maintain the highest standards throughout the production process. Your contribution will help meet tight deadlines while maintaining impeccable quality, and you’ll play an important part in ensuring that every product meets the company’s and customers' expectations.

Your responsibilities as a Production Operative include:
- Operate and monitor printing and finishing machinery, assisting in setup, adjustments, and operation to ensure smooth and efficient production runs
- Conduct regular quality control checks on printed materials, ensuring all products meet the specified quality standards
- Help ensure that production targets are met in a timely manner while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
- Efficiently load and unload materials, ensuring everything is handled with care and stored correctly
- Pack, label, and prepare products for dispatch, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately
- Adhere to stringent health and safety guidelines, maintaining a safe and organized working environment at all times
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of machines, ensuring they are in good working order
The requirements as a Production Operative include:
- Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while meeting production deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow clear instructions.
- Physical capability to handle manual tasks, including lifting and moving potentially heavy materials
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, identifying potential issues, and resolving them quickly.
- Ability to work well as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to meet production goals.
Shift Times:
07:00 - 19:00 working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern
PAY RATES:
This role is paying £12.21 per hour
Start Dates / Induction Process:
Immediate starts available. Inductions taking place including site tours and teaching you process and procedures of the company and workload.
