Maintenance Engineer – Long Crendon

 

Our client, a well-established national company are currently recruiting for an experienced full time Maintenance Engineer to join their team.

The Role

Main duties and responsibilities will include and not be limited to:

  • Promptly attending and resolving breakdowns during the day shift and repairing equipment to working order to ensure required job deadlines are met

  • Work with the Facilities Manger to setup prevention and routine maintenance plans, along with conducting these on a regular basis to avoid breakdowns and slowing of the production line 

  • Identify opportunities for improvement of equipment and facilities, along with developing knowledge of equipment and become the go to person for equipment based technical advice

  • Mentor production staff in the performance of first line maintenance activities and set up training courses, along with scheduling retraining sessions periodically

  • Assisting management in the introduction and commissioning of new equipment

  • Updating the Pirana Computerised Maintenance Management Systems with job related information 

  • Reporting any out of control conditions to the appropriate Management

  • Ensuring accuracy of stock and critical spares are maintained to minimise repair lead-times

  • Managing external buildings, service and maintenance contractors  

  • Ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times

    The Person

    The successful candidate must have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a production environment or have 10 years experience maintaining equipment in a high volume production environment

  • Hold a ONC in an electrical or mechanical engineering subject, or a B-TEC, HNC or HND level in electrical and mechanical engineering

  • Can read and understand electrical, pneumatic and mechanical drawings and have working knowledge of electrical single or 3 phase systems

  • Can fault find on electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems to component level

  • Have experience using ERP systems to raise purchase orders

  • Can identify and order spare, replacement and alternative parts and can repair or modify equipment to meet specifications

  • Proficiency at planning and prioritising activities in high-pressure situations

  • Can use Microsoft Office programmes such as word and excel to a high standard

  • Good attention to detail and high level of manual dexterity

    Experience in using computerised Maintenance Management systems, working knowledge of PLC controllers, competent in welding and fabrications, tool room skills and a valid forklift certificate is desired but not essential.

    Hours: Monday – Friday 08:00 – 16:00

    Pay: Negotiable

    Job Type: Temporary, with opportunity for permanent position for the right candidate
