Tool Room Engineer

Reporting to the Product Engineering and Tool Room Manager, you will ensure optimum performance and safe operation of all Mould tools to assist in the efficient running of the plant whilst maintaining good housekeeping, liaising with other departments and complying with all Company Health and Safety Procedures and you will:

 Carry out breakdown maintenance on all mould tools, jigs, fixtures etc.

 Carry out preventative maintenance on all mould tools, jigs, fixtures etc.

 Carry out projects associated with tools, tooling and/or manufacturing equipment as requested by the Tool Room Manager.

 Provide shift cover in the Tool Room when required.

 Attend college/training courses where applicable.

 Ensure that housekeeping of the department is kept up to standard.

 Ensure conformance to the Company Quality System procedures as documented.

Ensure mandatory Personal Protective Equipment is worn when and where required, and that all duties are carried out in line with the Company’s Health & Safety Policy.

 Undertake any duties as assigned on either a temporary or permanent basis by the Tool Room Manager or Senior Member of Management.

Your Profile:

You are able to work as part of a team or on their own.

 You have good literacy skills.

 You have a can do attitude when problems arise.

 You have good communication skills and reporting abilities.

 You have logical problem solving abilities.

 You have a commercial awareness and understanding when making decisions.

 You demonstrate and actively promote company values.

 You are a time served apprenticeship in tool making, machining, engineering.

 You have knowledge of injection mould tooling.

 You have knowledge of injection moulding processes.

 You have knowledge of health and safety, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH), etc.

 You have basic Electrical knowledge/Computer Aided Design (CAD) use and ability to read technical drawings.

 You ideally have experience in the use of overhead cranes an advantage.

 You ideally have a Forklift licence.
