Salary: £48k - £55k

As a Manager within the Agriculture and Property team, you will be responsible for overseeing a sizeable portfolio of our key agricultural clients and provide a high quality, cost effective and timely accountancy and tax focused service. Developing an understanding of your clients and their businesses, you’ll become their main point of contact for any day-to-day accounting queries. You’ll oversee the preparation of tax returns and accounts as well as managing the team’s progression and development.



  • ACA or ACCA qualification, Degree or equivalent experience

  • CTA or equivalent tax qualification desirable

  • Minimum of 3 years accounts and tax experience within a practice environment

  • Experience at manager level within a practice environment

  • Ability to review accounts files and tax returns quickly and efficiently

  • Strong computer literacy

Main duties:

  • Responding to client queries, and those from third parties (HMRC) in a timely manner and doing the main point of contact for clients on day to day matters.

  • Reviewing accounts and tax returns prepared by more junior staff.

  • Assisting with the management of the Agriculture and Property department to meet departmental objectives through planning.

  • Completing staff appraisal forms providing feedback and training as required.

  • Seeking to identify business and tax opportunities, VAT issues, NIC issues, business planning point as part of the review process.

  • Prepare necessary reports / computations etc.

  • Assisting partners in controlling WIP within the section.

  • Monitor progress against deadlines and ensure these are met.

  • Ensure work is planned and progressed in an efficient, timely and cost effective, manner by liaising with partners and supervising staff.
