Qualified Accounts Senior

Our client is looking for experienced, resilient and ACA or ACCA qualified Accounts Senior to join their Agriculture and Property team in well established and growing accountancy practice based in Banbury.

The role:
The main purpose of the role is to provide high quality accountancy and tax service to clients and to contribute to the development of the practice under minimal supervision.
The ideal candidate will have minimum of 2 years accounts experience within a practice environment and experience working with cloud accounting software such as Xero.
The candidate must be willing to continuously develop their performance/ knowledge/ skills and have great communication skills; verbal and written and attention to detail.


  • ACA or ACCA qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years accounts experience within a practice environment
  • Knowledge of Accountancy systems: CCH, Xero, Sage line 50, Farmplan, Compac and other software.
  • Ability to prepare client accounts, tax and VAT quickly and efficiently
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Strong active listening skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills and idea generation ability

  • Good organization skills and attention to detail

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepare client accounts, tax and VAT to the required standards
  • Identify points for Partner to raise with clients
  • Finalise paperwork for send off to clients and HMRC meeting required deadlines and quality
  • Liaise with clients to obtain relevant information for their accounts
  • Monitor own job quality and quantity in line with agreed budgets
  • Record own chargeable time and ensure maximum recovery
  • Support trainees by providing on the job coaching
  • Attend courses
  • Prepare client tax returns and advise on tax payable and payment dates and meet deadlines in line with firms standards
  • Assist clients with accounts software and other book-keeping queries
  • Generation and referral of leads
  • Work outside normal hours as required
